Onkyo enter the headphone market

Onkyo

They’re not even plugged in. She just really loves headphones

Onkyo (音響 or sound harmony in Japanese) have always had something to say with regards to home theatre and hi-fi but are now hitting the streets with a new range of headphones. Promising compnent-quality sound and all-new titanium driver design all models have already taken significant steps towards winning hearts and minds by including detachable and replaceable cables to economically resolve user mishaps.

The headphones will come with wwo wide-range 40 mm titanium drivers and ported bass sub-chambers for and I quote a “deep, muscular bottom-end”. The aluminum driver housing is shaped to resemble the volume control on Onkyo’s hi-fi and A/V components so hi-fi nerds should have cause to smile. Or at least externally excert their superiority.

Onkyo are launching with two closed-back on-ear models

Onkyo ES-HF300 – £179 – featuring an audiophile-grade cable
Onkyo ES-FC300 – £149 – available in three colour options, packaged with a tangle-free flat profile elastomer cable
